The Cowboys let Lundt fall into their laps, and walked away with a B. The rest of the league will want that one back. Chase Lundt tumbling to the Cowboys in the 204th overall pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want. They are betting West proves the room right and everyone else wrong. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In the 15th overall pick they get a true top target at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick44
Rnd2
Derrick Harmon
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Derrick Harmon at slot 44. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick76
Rnd3
Quinshon Judkins
They read the board right and Quinshon Judkins was the payoff at pick No. 76. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick149
Rnd5
Jacob Parrish
Jacob Parrish at pick 149 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick174
Rnd5
CJ West
CJ West at No. 174 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick204
Rnd6
Chase Lundt
Somehow Chase Lundt was still sitting there in Round 6, Pick 28, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick211
Rnd6
Caleb Ransaw
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Caleb Ransaw. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick217
Rnd7
Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
A tidy bit of business in the 217th pick, where Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick239
Rnd7
Jordan Hancock
They let Jordan Hancock come to them and pounced at pick No. 239. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick247
Rnd7
Jackson Hawes
A reach on Jackson Hawes in No. 247; the board had better options right there. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
