The trade table was a mismatch, and the 49ers were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Love at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
