The Patriots did not so much draft Mason Reiger as overpay for him, 53 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

The Muhammad steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up.

Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
