Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall
D-
ValueB-

FutureB-
The Broncos got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D-. The rest of the league had time to spare on Matthew Jones; the Broncos did not wait, grabbing him 64 spots ahead at Round 6, Pick 32. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Hadden.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and linebacker is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
JC Latham
In the Round 1 slot they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick76
Rnd3
Brandon Dorlus
By-the-book stuff, Brandon Dorlus at slot 76 squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick90
Rnd3
Cade Stover
Cade Stover slid further than he should have, and the 90th overall pick is lovely value for the tight end. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick117
Rnd4
Isaac Guerendo
Isaac Guerendo at pick 117 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick121
Rnd4
Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones in pick No. 121 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick136
Rnd4
Christian Jones
They did well to land Christian Jones in the 136th pick, just ahead of his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick145
Rnd5
Mason McCormick
No edge and no loss on Mason McCormick in the Round 5 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick147
Rnd5
Tykee Smith
Tykee Smith at Round 5, Pick 11 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick186
Rnd6
Kamal Hadden
Kamal Hadden in pick 186 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick203
Rnd6
Joe Milton III
A tidy little value on Joe Milton III in slot 203, a step better than break-even. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick207
Rnd6
Matthew Jones
Matthew Jones in No. 207 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The roster fit checks out.
