The Deven Eastern selection is the head-turner. The Cowboys reached 50 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. The math is unkind, and the D- follows.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. With tight end unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
