The Steelers let Allen fall into their laps, and walked away with a B+. The Steelers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Braelon Allen fell into the Round 6 slot. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. Reaching for Van Pran left real value on the table behind him. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Spending an early pick on offensive lineman with interior defensive lineman, safety and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
