McCarthy is the Bears' new face under center. Grade: B+.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Bears committed. J.J. McCarthy is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.

The cost of the Pratt reach is exactly the players who went right after him. On value alone, Newton makes the weekend a net positive. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend.

The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
