Daniels is the Commanders' new face under center. Grade: F.

Nobody else had McCallan Castles anywhere near the Round 6 slot. The Commanders did, by 142 spots, and that gap is the whole story. It bottoms out at a F.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. So much rides on Jayden Daniels that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him.

It is not that Solomon is a bad player; it is that the Commanders had louder needs to answer first. The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The Puni pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

There is no soft landing here; this class has to massively overperform just to matter.

In the 5th pick they get the face of the franchise. A clean fit for the roster.

Good price on Laiatu Latu in the Round 1 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.

Quietly one of the better values of the day, Troy Fautanu at pick 36. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

A tidy bit of business in Round 2, Pick 8, where Bo Nix graded well above the range. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick43 Rnd2 Chris Braswell
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Chris Braswell. The roster fit checks out.
Pick67 Rnd3 Zach Frazier
A reasonable price with a little left over, Zach Frazier in slot 67. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick69 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
They did well to land Mike Sainristil in the 69th pick, just ahead of his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
