Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall C+
ValueC- NeedB TradesA- FutureD-
A franchise passer in Nix headlines a C+ weekend for the Broncos.

The Broncos went off the board in a big way for Solomon Byrd, 67 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another.

The whole projection now runs through Bo Nix; hit there and everything else looks smarter. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. Vaki at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.

It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Bo Nix
In Round 1, Pick 12 they get their quarterback of the future, a steep price for the projection. A real need, handled.
Pick65 Rnd3 Xavier Legette
A conviction pick on Xavier Legette at No. 65 that the board grades a round light. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick81 Rnd3 Leonard Taylor III
Leonard Taylor III in the 81st pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick120 Rnd4 Jaylin Simpson
They paid up for Jaylin Simpson at pick No. 120 when waiting would have done the job. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick144 Rnd5 Roger Rosengarten
Roger Rosengarten in the Round 5 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick146 Rnd5 Ty'Ron Hopper
A wild overpay on Ty'Ron Hopper in slot 146, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick164 Rnd5 Isaiah Williams
They reached a country mile for Isaiah Williams at the 164th pick, and the board is aghast. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick177 Rnd6 Sione Vaki
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Sione Vaki at slot 177 is the proof. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick206 Rnd6 Solomon Byrd
Solomon Byrd at No. 206 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
