Draft Grade — Ravens

FutureB
The Ravens cashed the board's mistake on Coker: B. Somebody in the 250th overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Ravens sat still while Jalen Coker, the No. 211 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The cost of the Legette reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick39
Rnd2
Xavier Legette
A conviction pick on Xavier Legette at No. 39 that the board grades a round light. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick62
Rnd2
Kiran Amegadjie
They paid sticker price for Kiran Amegadjie in the 62nd overall pick, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick83
Rnd3
Jonah Elliss
Jonah Elliss in slot 83 is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick93
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson in the 93rd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick130
Rnd4
Leonard Taylor III
They took Leonard Taylor III at par in Round 4, Pick 30, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick155
Rnd5
Tykee Smith
Tykee Smith at pick No. 155 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick165
Rnd5
Dylan Laube
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Dylan Laube. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick196
Rnd6
Kalen King
A clean, defensible pick in pick 196 with a little surplus value in Kalen King. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick228
Rnd7
JD Bertrand
A reasonable price with a little left over, JD Bertrand in the 228th overall pick. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick250
Rnd7
Jalen Coker
Jalen Coker at pick 250 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The roster fit checks out.
