The curious call sets the tone. With quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots still glaring, the Steelers used No. 84 on Sedrick Van Pran, an offensive lineman they were not exactly short of.

The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. That McCaffrey pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

Safety was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
