Of all the ways to open, the Steelers chose the head-scratcher, spending Round 2, Pick 19 on Zach Frazier with quarterback, safety and other spots still wide open.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. McGlothern falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

Reaching for Frazier left real value on the table behind him.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
