A respectable, level-headed haul for the Colts: B-. Nobody had Carson Schwesinger this high, and it is not close. The Colts reached 24 spots to get him at the Round 2 slot. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with tight end chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
In pick No. 14 they get a security blanket over the middle at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick45
Rnd2
Carson Schwesinger
A wild overpay on Carson Schwesinger in the 45th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
