Draft Grade — Chargers
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Chargers kept it disciplined and banked a B-. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Chargers walked out of the weekend still thin at interior defensive lineman, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Colston Loveland
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Colston Loveland. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick55
Rnd2
Bradyn Swinson
They paid sticker price for Bradyn Swinson in the 55th overall pick, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
