Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Bills. Boards are made to be trusted, and the Bills shredded theirs for Justin Rogers. He came off 62 spots early, and the room will hear about it. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
The linebacker hole is the one line item this class does not answer. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Worthy. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The skill positions did well by the weekend.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Troy Franklin
A clean, defensible pick in pick 28 with a little surplus value in Troy Franklin. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick60
Rnd2
Xavier Worthy
They will replay Xavier Worthy at pick No. 60 for years; that is how good the value is. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick99
Rnd3
Justin Rogers
They reached a country mile for Justin Rogers at Round 3, Pick 36, and the board is aghast. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick128
Rnd4
Dillon Johnson
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Dillon Johnson in the Round 4 slot. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
