The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Texans reached some 39 spots for Jamaree Caldwell, and value like that does not grow back. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. Getting Brown where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
