The Packers worked the phones like thieves and earned a B+. The real work happened on the phones. The Packers fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.
The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback, tight end and other spots still on the board. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Reaching for Thompson left real value on the table behind him.
