Mondon Jr. should have been long gone. The Steelers pounced, and earned a B.

Somebody in the 238th overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Steelers sat still while Smael Mondon Jr., the No. 108 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

They will need Dart to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

In Round 1, Pick 26 they get an every-down engine for the run game, outstanding value to boot.

This one needs a full-page explanation: Jaxson Dart in the 90th overall pick, miles early. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick128 Rnd4 Evan Stewart
A wide receiver of that caliber at the Round 4 slot is the definition of value, full stop. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick155 Rnd5 Quinshon Judkins
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Quinshon Judkins in the 155th pick, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick226 Rnd7 Lathan Ransom
They will replay Lathan Ransom at slot 226 for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick238 Rnd7 Smael Mondon Jr.
Smael Mondon Jr. at No. 238 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
