Mr Swift DRAFTING FOR THEPanthers

Draft Grade — Panthers
Overall

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Panthers: B-. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Panthers took Walter Rouse at pick 222, roughly 60 spots before his name belonged. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They banked enough surplus on Simpson to cover a lot of smaller sins.
Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick33
Rnd2
Tyler Nubin
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tyler Nubin. It fills a real need, too.
Pick65
Rnd3
Jonathon Brooks
Jonathon Brooks in the 65th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick101
Rnd4
Dominick Puni
Dominick Puni at pick No. 101 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick168
Rnd5
Jaylin Simpson
A tidy bit of business in slot 168, where Jaylin Simpson graded well above the range. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick180
Rnd6
Christian Jones
This one needs a full-page explanation: Christian Jones in the Round 6 slot, miles early. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick222
Rnd7
Walter Rouse
A big swing on Walter Rouse at Round 7, Pick 2, well ahead of any board in the building. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
