The board owed the Chiefs one, and it paid up: Omar Cooper Jr., the No. 55 name on the board, sitting there at the 74th overall pick like a gift left on the doorstep.

For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. Every board in the league had Coogan lower, and that gap is the story.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The back end got a real overhaul.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
