Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
D-
ValueB

FutureC
The Bills bled value on every deal, hence the D-. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Bills did exactly that with Kimani Vidal in the Round 6 slot. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.
The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Getting Puni where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Chop Robinson
In pick No. 28 they get a problem off the edge at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick44
Rnd2
Keon Coleman
Keon Coleman at the 44th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick60
Rnd2
Kris Jenkins
They read the board right and Kris Jenkins was the payoff at the Round 2 slot. The roster fit checks out.
Pick83
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
No drama and no debate, Khyree Jackson went about where he belonged in slot 83. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick99
Rnd3
Javon Baker
Javon Baker in Round 3, Pick 36 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick112
Rnd4
Dominick Puni
They barely believed it either: Dominick Puni still on the board at No. 112. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick128
Rnd4
Tykee Smith
Tykee Smith at pick 128 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick154
Rnd5
Justin Eboigbe
Nothing to complain about; Justin Eboigbe went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick163
Rnd5
Marist Liufau
They took Marist Liufau at par in the 163rd pick, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick196
Rnd6
Kimani Vidal
This one needs a full-page explanation: Kimani Vidal in the 196th overall pick, miles early. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
