Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Bills robbed the room for Polk. Final grade: B.

The board owed the Bills one, and it paid up: Ja'Lynn Polk, the No. 73 name on the board, sitting there at slot 128 like a gift left on the doorstep. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. The Milton III reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They left with linebacker solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In pick 28 they get a true top target, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick60 Rnd2 Xavier Worthy
Xavier Worthy at the 60th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick128 Rnd4 Ja'Lynn Polk
You do not let a wide receiver like Ja'Lynn Polk reach pick No. 128 and blink. They did not. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick134 Rnd4 Trey Benson
Trey Benson in No. 134 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick144 Rnd5 Blake Fisher
They barely believed it either: Blake Fisher still on the board at the Round 5 slot. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick160 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
A clean, defensible pick in slot 160 with a little surplus value in Kitan Oladapo. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick164 Rnd5 Dwight McGlothern
Good price on Dwight McGlothern in the 164th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick189 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
They jumped the gun on Joe Milton III, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick200 Rnd6 Jha'Quan Jackson
Jha'Quan Jackson at slot 200 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick204 Rnd6 Drake Nugent
A premium they did not need to pay, Drake Nugent a notch or two before his time. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick248 Rnd7 Javontae Jean-Baptiste
A top-tier edge rusher at a bargain, Javontae Jean-Baptiste in the 248th overall pick, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick249 Rnd7 Trevin Wallace
Nice patience on Trevin Wallace, who had no business lasting to the Round 7 slot. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
