A solid, sensible weekend for the Bills: B-. The Bills went off the board in a big way for Caedan Wallace, 52 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Their trades came out a wash either way.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Graham Barton
In pick 28 they get a long-term starter on the line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick60
Rnd2
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at the Round 2 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick128
Rnd4
Jalyx Hunt
Value said wait; Jalyx Hunt in the 128th pick says they were not listening. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick134
Rnd4
Dillon Johnson
A real head-scratcher, Dillon Johnson in No. 134 is miles ahead of his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
Pick138
Rnd5
Mason McCormick
Mason McCormick in Round 5, Pick 2 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick144
Rnd5
Luke McCaffrey
They took Luke McCaffrey at par in the 144th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick160
Rnd5
Caedan Wallace
They talked themselves into Caedan Wallace at slot 160, and the board did not agree. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick163
Rnd5
Jordan Jefferson
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jordan Jefferson well ahead of where he belonged. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
