Caveman DRAFTING FOR THEBills

Draft Grade — Bills

The steal of the weekend belongs to the Bills and Hadden: B. Thirty-one other rooms let Kamal Hadden slide, and the Bills were the ones holding the card at pick 204. Highway robbery. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the linebacker spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Dallas Turner
In slot 28 they get a premier pass rusher at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick60
Rnd2
Tyler Nubin
They robbed the room for Tyler Nubin here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The roster fit checks out.
Pick128
Rnd4
Johnny Wilson
Nice patience on Johnny Wilson, who had no business lasting to No. 128. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick133
Rnd4
Jarrian Jones
A slide stopped in pick No. 133, with Jarrian Jones worth more than the price. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick144
Rnd5
Christian Jones
Nothing to complain about; Christian Jones went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick160
Rnd5
Jamari Thrash
Value with a capital V on Jamari Thrash in the 160th pick, a genuine coup. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick163
Rnd5
Anthony Gould
Anthony Gould slid further than he should have, and the 163rd overall pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick200
Rnd6
Chau Smith-Wade
They will replay Chau Smith-Wade at pick 200 for years; that is how good the value is. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick204
Rnd6
Kamal Hadden
A cornerback of that caliber at pick No. 204 is the definition of value, full stop. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick248
Rnd7
Tylan Grable
They barely believed it either: Tylan Grable still on the board at Round 7, Pick 28. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
