Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesA- FutureB-
The Bills did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B.

The Bills clearly saw something nobody else did in Shaun Dolac, taking him 108 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

The Watts steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Emeka Egbuka
In the Round 1 slot they get a difference-maker at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick57 Rnd2 TreVeyon Henderson
A tidy little value on TreVeyon Henderson in No. 57, a step better than break-even. The roster fit checks out.
Pick62 Rnd2 Xavier Watts
Somehow Xavier Watts was still sitting there in pick No. 62, and they pounced on premier safety value. It fills a real need, too.
Pick109 Rnd4 Jordan Phillips
Jordan Phillips in Round 4, Pick 7 is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick114 Rnd4 Denzel Burke
By-the-book stuff, Denzel Burke at the 114th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick132 Rnd4 Kobe King
Kobe King at slot 132 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick169 Rnd5 Chase Lundt
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Chase Lundt. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick170 Rnd5 Jonah Monheim
Jonah Monheim at the 170th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick173 Rnd5 Jake Briningstool
No drama and no debate, Jake Briningstool went about where he belonged in the Round 5 slot. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick177 Rnd6 JJ Pegues
They liked JJ Pegues enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 177. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick206 Rnd6 Joshua Gray
No edge and no loss on Joshua Gray in the 206th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick230 Rnd7 Shaun Dolac
They reached into another round for Shaun Dolac, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
