Draft Grade — Bills
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesF FutureC
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Bills to a D-.

The phones were a trap the Bills kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. The math is unkind, and the D- follows.

Spending an early pick on OLB-EDGE with quarterback, running back and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. Boyd has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Adonai Mitchell
In Round 1, Pick 28 they get a home-run threat at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick44 Rnd2 Tyler Nubin
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tyler Nubin in the 44th pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick60 Rnd2 Braden Fiske
Braden Fiske in slot 60 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick83 Rnd3 Xavier Legette
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 83, where Xavier Legette graded well above the range. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick98 Rnd3 Leonard Taylor III
Leonard Taylor III in the Round 3 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick111 Rnd4 Javon Solomon
Of all the spots to shop, they chose OLB-EDGE. Javon Solomon in the 111th overall pick leaves quarterback, running back and other spots for later.
Pick127 Rnd4 Christian Jones
They paid up for Christian Jones at No. 127 when waiting would have done the job. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick143 Rnd5 Jarrian Jones
By-the-book stuff, Jarrian Jones at pick 143 squarely in line with his ranking. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick159 Rnd5 Marist Liufau
The board had Marist Liufau higher than the Round 5 slot, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick162 Rnd5 Khristian Boyd
Khristian Boyd at the 162nd pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick188 Rnd6 Drake Nugent
A reach on Drake Nugent in pick No. 188; the board had better options right there. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
