Draft Grade — Bills
Overall C
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesC FutureD
The Bills did enough to get by: C.

The Que Robinson selection is the head-turner. The Bills reached 140 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. A mixed bag that lands at C.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Stutsman. They will answer for taking cornerback early while quarterback and tight end went begging.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Job largely done: linebacker settled and 7 of 9 of the wish list covered.

Call it incomplete, and check back in a couple of seasons.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
In the Round 1 slot they get a load in the middle. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33 Rnd2 Emeka Egbuka
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Emeka Egbuka at slot 33. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick56 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Malaki Starks at the 56th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick62 Rnd2 Antwaun Powell-Ryland
Antwaun Powell-Ryland in No. 62 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick67 Rnd3 Darien Porter
Darien Porter at the 67th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick108 Rnd4 Jaylin Noel
A tidy little value on Jaylin Noel in pick No. 108, a step better than break-even. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick110 Rnd4 Joshua Farmer
A reach on Joshua Farmer in the 110th pick; the board had better options right there. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick113 Rnd4 Que Robinson
This one needs a full-page explanation: Que Robinson in No. 113, miles early. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick131 Rnd4 Cobee Bryant
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the 131st overall pick on Cobee Bryant with quarterback and tight end unsolved.
Pick141 Rnd5 Barrett Carter
Somehow Barrett Carter was still sitting there in pick No. 141, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick171 Rnd5 Raheim Sanders
Raheim Sanders in pick 171 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick175 Rnd5 CJ West
Value said wait; CJ West in Round 5, Pick 36 says they were not listening. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick179 Rnd6 Jake Majors
Jake Majors in slot 179 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick206 Rnd6 Amari Kight
Amari Kight at the Round 6 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick208 Rnd6 Danny Stutsman
Danny Stutsman at the Round 6 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
