The phones were a trap the Bills kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.

They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. On value alone, Mondon Jr. makes the weekend a net positive.

The Bills paired the rookies with proven help, Rashan Gary leading the way. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, wide receiver very much included.
