The trade table was where it all came apart. The Bills shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

Reaching for Solomon left real value on the table behind him. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.

Getting Bertrand where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The Solomon pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at interior defensive lineman and edge rusher.

So much rides on Brian Thomas Jr. that the real verdict is a season or two away.
