Draft Grade — Bills
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Bills to a D-.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Bills shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. It grades a D-, and the process earned it.

They punted on offensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Dart pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own. They went 5 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, offensive lineman very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 James Pearce Jr.
In pick No. 1 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick27 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kenneth Grant. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick43 Rnd2 Mykel Williams
Mykel Williams at Round 2, Pick 11 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick59 Rnd2 Antwane Wells Jr.
Antwane Wells Jr. in the 59th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick91 Rnd3 Jaxson Dart
They went early on Jaxson Dart in slot 91, and the value did not follow. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick123 Rnd4 Rylie Mills
No drama and no debate, Rylie Mills went about where he belonged in the 123rd overall pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick187 Rnd6 Jaishawn Barham
Jaishawn Barham in the Round 6 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
