Grant should have been long gone. The Bills pounced, and earned a B.

The board owed the Bills one, and it paid up: Charles Grant, the No. 91 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 5 slot like a gift left on the doorstep.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. The roster is better shaped than it was, with linebacker chief among the fixes.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
