FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Bills a B. If confidence were a draft strategy, the Bills would have aced it. Cam Jackson at the Round 6 slot is 23 spots clear of where he belonged. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Jahdae Barron
In No. 30 they get a sticky cover corner, and a steal at that.
Pick56
Rnd2
Alfred Collins
A straight-up fair deal on Alfred Collins at pick 56, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick62
Rnd2
Xavier Watts
They barely believed it either: Xavier Watts still on the board at the Round 2 slot. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick109
Rnd4
Charles Grant
Charles Grant in Round 4, Pick 7 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick110
Rnd4
Savion Williams
They robbed the room for Savion Williams here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick169
Rnd5
DJ Giddens
DJ Giddens at slot 169 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick170
Rnd5
Seth McLaughlin
A reasonable price with a little left over, Seth McLaughlin in slot 170. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick173
Rnd5
Quincy Riley
Quincy Riley at pick No. 173 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick206
Rnd6
Cam Jackson
A wild overpay on Cam Jackson in Round 6, Pick 30, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
