FutureB-
The Bills checked most of the boxes and earned a B. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Bills reached some 97 spots for John Morgan III, and value like that does not grow back. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Guyton. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They went 5 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Bralen Trice
In Round 1, Pick 28 they get a bendy edge with upside, though the board says they badly overpaid. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick60
Rnd2
Tyler Guyton
The board fumbled Tyler Guyton all the way to slot 60, and they scooped it up. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick99
Rnd3
Blake Corum
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Blake Corum at pick 99. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick129
Rnd4
Malik Washington
You do not let a wide receiver like Malik Washington reach the 129th pick and blink. They did not. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick162
Rnd5
Marist Liufau
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Marist Liufau in No. 162. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick198
Rnd6
Ty'Ron Hopper
Ty'Ron Hopper in pick No. 198 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick202
Rnd6
Caedan Wallace
They barely believed it either: Caedan Wallace still on the board at the 202nd pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick206
Rnd6
Johnny Dixon
Steal is underselling it; Johnny Dixon at pick No. 206 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick246
Rnd7
John Morgan III
John Morgan III at slot 246 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
