Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A franchise passer in Moore headlines a B- weekend for the Jets.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Dante Moore is the Jets' quarterback, full stop.

They will need Thompson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Landing Leavitt that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Dante Moore
In the 5th overall pick they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick28 Rnd1 Makai Lemon
In pick No. 28 they get a true top target, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Pick36 Rnd2 Anthony Hill Jr.
They took Anthony Hill Jr. at par in the 36th pick, which is nothing to complain about. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick44 Rnd2 Tyreak Sapp
A premium they did not need to pay, Tyreak Sapp a notch or two before his time. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick105 Rnd4 Sam Leavitt
Sam Leavitt in the Round 4 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick178 Rnd5 Darius Taylor
By-the-book stuff, Darius Taylor at Round 5, Pick 38 squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
Pick193 Rnd6 Xavier Nwankpa
They did well to land Xavier Nwankpa in pick 193, just ahead of his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick205 Rnd6 Isaiah Jatta
Isaiah Jatta in slot 205 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick210 Rnd6 Dane Key
Dane Key at the 210th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick215 Rnd7 Jaren Kanak
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jaren Kanak. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick240 Rnd7 Smith Snowden
A conviction pick on Smith Snowden at No. 240 that the board grades a round light. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick253 Rnd7 Jalen Thompson
Jalen Thompson at slot 253 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick254 Rnd7 Kelby Collins
Kelby Collins at the 254th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
