Devonshire should have been long gone. The Bills pounced, and earned a B-.

The Bills did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and M.J. Devonshire fell into Round 6, Pick 27.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The cost of the Wingo reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Adonai Mitchell
In the Round 1 slot they get a matchup problem out wide. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick60 Rnd2 Javon Bullard
A straight-up fair deal on Javon Bullard at slot 60, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick99 Rnd3 Mekhi Wingo
A premium they did not need to pay, Mekhi Wingo a notch or two before his time. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick129 Rnd4 Javon Foster
Javon Foster is a better player than pick 129 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick159 Rnd5 Jarrian Jones
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jarrian Jones at the 159th overall pick is the proof. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick162 Rnd5 Sione Vaki
Sione Vaki at Round 5, Pick 26 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick198 Rnd6 Jaylan Ford
Jaylan Ford in No. 198 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick202 Rnd6 M.J. Devonshire
The board fumbled M.J. Devonshire all the way to the 202nd pick, and they scooped it up. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick206 Rnd6 Kendall Milton
Kendall Milton slid further than he should have, and No. 206 is lovely value for the running back. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick246 Rnd7 Carter Bradley
A reach on Carter Bradley in pick No. 246; the board had better options right there. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
