The Bills landed square in the muddy middle: C-. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Bills started one anyway for Que Robinson, 167 picks ahead of schedule. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C- in the wash.
However the rest shakes out, Mullings at that price is a win they earned. They will regret leaving offensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.
Hit on Emeka Egbuka and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Emeka Egbuka
In the Round 1 slot they get a home-run threat at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick49
Rnd2
Deone Walker
Deone Walker at Round 2, Pick 17 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick57
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
Steal is underselling it; Malaki Starks at the 57th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick62
Rnd2
David Walker
They talked themselves into David Walker at pick No. 62, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick71
Rnd3
Que Robinson
They reached a country mile for Que Robinson at pick 71, and the board is aghast. The roster fit checks out.
Pick81
Rnd3
Shemar Turner
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Shemar Turner. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick108
Rnd4
Denzel Burke
A cornerback of that caliber at the 108th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick110
Rnd4
Demetrius Knight Jr.
Demetrius Knight Jr. in the 110th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick118
Rnd4
Ty Robinson
Ty Robinson at No. 118 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick131
Rnd4
Jaylin Noel
Jaylin Noel in pick No. 131 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick171
Rnd5
Kevin Winston Jr.
They robbed the room for Kevin Winston Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick175
Rnd5
Jacob Parrish
Jacob Parrish in the Round 5 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick179
Rnd6
Danny Stutsman
Danny Stutsman in Round 6, Pick 1 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick206
Rnd6
Kalel Mullings
You do not let a running back like Kalel Mullings reach pick 206 and blink. They did not. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick208
Rnd6
Andres Borregales
Circle this one: Andres Borregales at Round 6, Pick 30 is a fall that decides a draft. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
