Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B
ValueA- NeedB+ TradesB FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Bills: B.

Nobody else had Tyreak Sapp anywhere near Round 5, Pick 32. The Bills did, by 100 spots, and that gap is the whole story. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Omarion Hampton
In the Round 1 slot they get a workhorse for the backfield at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick60 Rnd2 Luther Burden III
Luther Burden III at the 60th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick61 Rnd2 Aeneas Peebles
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Aeneas Peebles in Round 2, Pick 29, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick120 Rnd4 Kamari Ramsey
A safety of that caliber at the 120th pick is the definition of value, full stop. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick130 Rnd4 Rylie Mills
Rylie Mills in No. 130 lands just on the right side of the ledger. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick170 Rnd5 Tyreak Sapp
Tyreak Sapp at slot 170 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick172 Rnd5 Chris Paul Jr.
They barely believed it either: Chris Paul Jr. still on the board at No. 172. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick188 Rnd6 Karene Reid
They robbed the room for Karene Reid here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick205 Rnd6 Lander Barton
Circle this one: Lander Barton at pick 205 is a fall that decides a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick208 Rnd6 Brant Kuithe
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Brant Kuithe at the Round 6 slot is the proof. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
