Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Bills checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

The Marcus Harris pick is the one that will follow the Bills into the fall. They took him 31 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

Landing Hardy that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. They left with linebacker solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Ladd McConkey
In pick No. 28 they get a matchup problem out wide. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick60 Rnd2 Javon Bullard
Javon Bullard at Round 2, Pick 28 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick99 Rnd3 Roman Wilson
They let Roman Wilson come to them and pounced at the Round 3 slot. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick128 Rnd4 Cedric Gray
By-the-book stuff, Cedric Gray at slot 128 squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick162 Rnd5 Braelon Allen
Nothing to complain about; Braelon Allen went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Pick165 Rnd5 Grayson Murphy
No drama and no debate, Grayson Murphy went about where he belonged in pick 165. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick197 Rnd6 Sam Hartman
Sam Hartman in pick 197 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick202 Rnd6 Christian Jones
Christian Jones at the Round 6 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick206 Rnd6 Marcus Harris
A wild overpay on Marcus Harris in the 206th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick249 Rnd7 Daequan Hardy
You do not let a cornerback like Daequan Hardy reach the 249th pick and blink. They did not. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
