Good, not great, for the Bills: B-.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Bills did exactly that with RJ Oben in the 177th overall pick.

Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Bowman Jr.. Job largely done: linebacker settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Luther Burden III
In the Round 1 slot they get a difference-maker at receiver, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick56 Rnd2 Alfred Collins
Alfred Collins at No. 56 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick62 Rnd2 Jayden Higgins
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jayden Higgins in the 62nd pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick109 Rnd4 Zy Alexander
Zy Alexander at slot 109 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick132 Rnd4 Billy Bowman Jr.
Billy Bowman Jr. in pick 132 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick169 Rnd5 Raheim Sanders
No drama and no debate, Raheim Sanders went about where he belonged in pick No. 169. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick170 Rnd5 Jay Higgins
A big swing on Jay Higgins at the Round 5 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick173 Rnd5 JJ Pegues
JJ Pegues at the 173rd overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick177 Rnd6 RJ Oben
Value said wait; RJ Oben in the 177th pick says they were not listening. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick206 Rnd6 Nazir Stackhouse
Nazir Stackhouse at No. 206 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
