Larceny in Round 7, Pick 28 lands the Bills a B-, Harden and all. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Bills were there to profit. Myles Harden, the No. 209 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 248th overall pick. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
The cost of the McGregor reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Adonai Mitchell
In the Round 1 slot they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick60
Rnd2
Mike Sainristil
A clean, defensible pick in slot 60 with a little surplus value in Mike Sainristil. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick128
Rnd4
James Williams
Fair-plus on James Williams, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick134
Rnd4
Christian Jones
No drama and no debate, Christian Jones went about where he belonged in pick 134. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick144
Rnd5
Braiden McGregor
A real head-scratcher, Braiden McGregor in pick No. 144 is miles ahead of his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
Pick160
Rnd5
Josh Newton
The board fumbled Josh Newton all the way to the 160th overall pick, and they scooped it up. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick163
Rnd5
Isaac Guerendo
They robbed the room for Isaac Guerendo here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick196
Rnd6
Curtis Jacobs
Curtis Jacobs in Round 6, Pick 21 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick200
Rnd6
Drake Nugent
The board had cheaper options than Drake Nugent at pick 200, and it noticed. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick204
Rnd6
Logan Lee
By-the-book stuff, Logan Lee at the Round 6 slot squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick248
Rnd7
Myles Harden
Steal is underselling it; Myles Harden at pick No. 248 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
