Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall F
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesF FutureD
The Falcons overdrafted Dorlus and paid the price. Grade: F.

Somebody took the Falcons to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. A F, plain and simple.

They will need Dorlus to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring. The Justin Fields deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with quarterback still staring back at them.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In the 9th pick they get a weapon on the perimeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick30 Rnd1 Brandon Dorlus
In pick No. 30 they get a double-digit-sack hope, though the board says they badly overpaid. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick54 Rnd2 Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia at Round 2, Pick 22 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick73 Rnd3 Leonard Taylor III
Good price on Leonard Taylor III in No. 73, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick109 Rnd4 Tory Horton
By-the-book stuff, Tory Horton at the Round 4 slot squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick146 Rnd5 Mike Sainristil
Mike Sainristil in slot 146 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick230 Rnd7 Joshua Gray
A conviction pick on Joshua Gray at the 230th overall pick that the board grades a round light. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
