The phones sank the Texans this weekend: D-.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Texans did exactly that with Gunnar Helm in Round 3, Pick 36. The math is unkind, and the D- follows.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. Jones Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Job largely done: running back settled and 8 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
