Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
D-
ValueC+

FutureC
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Bills to a D-. Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Bills spent slot 189 on Kimani Vidal, a name the board had a full 64 spots lower. It grades a D-, and the process earned it.
The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want. The Hicks pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and linebacker is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick33
Rnd2
Adonai Mitchell
Adonai Mitchell in slot 33 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick44
Rnd2
Braden Fiske
They jumped the gun on Braden Fiske, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick60
Rnd2
Zach Frazier
A straight-up fair deal on Zach Frazier at pick No. 60, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick71
Rnd3
Marshawn Kneeland
Marshawn Kneeland in the Round 3 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick99
Rnd3
Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks at pick 99 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick112
Rnd4
Christian Jones
They left a pile of value on the table to take Christian Jones this early at Round 4, Pick 12. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick128
Rnd4
Johnny Wilson
They did well to land Johnny Wilson in Round 4, Pick 28, just ahead of his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick144
Rnd5
Nehemiah Pritchett
They paid sticker price for Nehemiah Pritchett in the 144th overall pick, and that is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick154
Rnd5
Jacob Cowing
Jacob Cowing at the 154th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick155
Rnd5
Drake Nugent
Drake Nugent at pick No. 155 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick162
Rnd5
Jordan Jefferson
Jordan Jefferson at pick 162 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick189
Rnd6
Kimani Vidal
Kimani Vidal in slot 189 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The roster fit checks out.
