Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
D-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesF
FutureC
The Bills let Nubin fall and pounced. Final grade: D-. Somebody took the Bills to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.
If Nugent pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Nubin.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Adonai Mitchell
In pick No. 28 they get a weapon on the perimeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick44
Rnd2
Braden Fiske
Braden Fiske in slot 44 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick60
Rnd2
Tyler Nubin
Tyler Nubin at No. 60 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It fills a real need, too.
Pick83
Rnd3
Marshawn Kneeland
Marshawn Kneeland at the 83rd pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. The roster fit checks out.
Pick99
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson at the 99th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick112
Rnd4
Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice at pick 112 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick128
Rnd4
Blake Fisher
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Blake Fisher at pick No. 128. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick144
Rnd5
Justin Eboigbe
No drama and no debate, Justin Eboigbe went about where he belonged in pick 144. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick154
Rnd5
Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones slipping to the 154th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick163
Rnd5
Marist Liufau
Marist Liufau in the Round 5 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick189
Rnd6
Drake Nugent
Drake Nugent at the 189th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
