The Commanders torched the value chart for Gavin Sawchuk, taking him 176 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The Commanders indulged a want in Haulcy while a need in edge rusher stayed open.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. That Haulcy pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
