Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
A-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesA+
FutureA+
The Browns worked the phones like thieves and earned a A-. Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Browns came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.
Reaching for Zuhn III left real value on the table behind him. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
The Altmyer value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Christian Gonzalez gives the group a proven body among the projects.
Bottom line, with Arvell Reese leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Carnell Tate
In the 22nd overall pick they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick23
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
Arvell Reese in slot 23 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick41
Rnd2
Olaivavega Ioane
Olaivavega Ioane in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick72
Rnd3
Austin Siereveld
A big swing on Austin Siereveld at pick 72, well ahead of any board in the building. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick107
Rnd4
Kaytron Allen
Kaytron Allen in No. 107 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick146
Rnd5
Logan Jones
By-the-book stuff, Logan Jones at Round 5, Pick 6 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick148
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun at the 148th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick207
Rnd6
Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III at pick No. 207 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick242
Rnd7
Brandon Inniss
They went early on Brandon Inniss in pick No. 242, and the value did not follow. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick243
Rnd7
Luke Altmyer
Luke Altmyer slid further than he should have, and the 243rd overall pick is lovely value for the quarterback. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick250
Rnd7
Bear Alexander
Bear Alexander at pick 250 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
