The Patriots let James fall into their laps, and walked away with a A.

The Patriots spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Jordan James, the No. 116 name on the board, in Round 7, Pick 4. Little to argue with here, and the A says so.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

The Patriots paired the rookies with proven help, Denzel Ward leading the way. The cost of the Membou reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Add it up and this is about as clean as a draft weekend gets.
