Nobody had Emery Jones Jr. this high, and it is not close. The Giants reached 127 spots to get him at Round 3, Pick 2. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

That Styles pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
