The Eagles cashed the board's mistake on Cowing: D. You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Eagles did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Cowing. Spending an early pick on linebacker with interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.
For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
