Larceny in the 220th overall pick lands the Buccaneers a B, Gould and all.

The board owed the Buccaneers one, and it paid up: Anthony Gould, the No. 148 name on the board, sitting there at Round 6, Pick 45 like a gift left on the doorstep.

For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. The cost of the Davis reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Graham Barton
In Round 1, Pick 26 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick59 Rnd2 Adisa Isaac
A reasonable price with a little left over, Adisa Isaac in No. 59. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick89 Rnd3 Javon Baker
Nice patience on Javon Baker, who had no business lasting to slot 89. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick92 Rnd3 Andru Phillips
Andru Phillips in pick No. 92 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick123 Rnd4 Brandon Coleman
Brandon Coleman in the Round 4 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick125 Rnd4 Tyler Davis
Tyler Davis at pick 125 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick189 Rnd6 Isaiah Davis
Isaiah Davis in the 189th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick220 Rnd6 Anthony Gould
Somehow Anthony Gould was still sitting there in the 220th overall pick, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick246 Rnd7 Nathan Thomas
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Nathan Thomas in pick 246, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
